The class also introduces sound design, including textures, impacts, and effects that add dramatic energy and support the visuals. CLASS #02 – IN PERSON
Songwriting Summer Camp
Songwriting Like the Pros: From Inspiration to Finished Song
Learn how successful songs are built from the inside out by analyzing the writing techniques of some of the most influential artists of our time, including Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Shawn Mendes, The Weeknd, and Coldplay. This 5-day camp takes you beyond surface level listening and into the creative decisions that make songs resonate emotionally and commercially.
Through guided listening, real world examples, and hands-on writing exercises, we’ll break down melody, lyric choices, rhyme schemes, song structure, harmonic movement, and emotional storytelling. You’ll explore what makes a verse feel intimate and grounded, why pre-choruses create lift and anticipation, how choruses hook listeners instantly, and how subtle melodic and harmonic choices elevate a song from good to unforgettable.
Designed to be both practical and inspiring, this camp is musician-focused and works whether you write on piano, guitar, or in a DAW.
By the end of the camp, you won’t just understand why popular songs work; you’ll apply these techniques to create stronger songs with clarity, intention, and authenticity.
